As part of Diamond Coat’s ongoing efforts to provide our customers with the best quality epoxy/resin on the market, we have designed this product to be healthier, cleaner, and safer, especially for those with epoxy/resin allergies. Specifically, we have removed four specific ingredients that have been identified as having harmful side effects, which include triggering allergic reactions in those with a sensitivity to epoxy/resin. Those ingredients and their side effects are:


Nonylphenol:

  • Hormonal disruption (endocrine)
  • Extreme aquatic toxicity
  • Skin and eye irritation
  • Reproductive harm
  • Birth defects
  • Promotes proliferation of breast cancer cells

Bisphenol-A:

  • Hormonal disruption, especially in fetuses, babies, and children
  • Brain and behavior problems
  • Cancer
  • Heart problems

Isobenzyl Alcohol:

  • Application site irritation, reduced sensation, and/or loss of sensation
  • Severe itching
  • Reddening of the skin
  • Irritation of the eye
  • Vision problems
  • Pain
  • Rashing

Trifunctional Amines:

  • Severe skin burns
  • Eye damage
  • If inhaled, destructive to respiratory tissues
  • Individuals who experience less severe reactions can still experience:
  • Application site irritation, reduced sensation, and/or loss of sensation
  • Severe itching
  • Reddening of the skin
  • Irritation of the eye
  • Vision problems
  • Pain
  • Rashing

In removing these harmful ingredients, we not only created a safer, healthier, and hypoallergenic epoxy, we ended up creating an epoxy that is clearer, cures harder, and has an easier to mix viscosity. While we always recommend the use of adequate PPE and ventilation procedures when working with any chemicals, we stand by the health and safety benefits of our new epoxy.

Our Diamond Coat Platinum is UV resistant, eco-friendly, and zero VOC epoxy. Clear epoxy resin with a 1:1 ratio, can be used as a clear coating or you may also add Diamond Base Colors or Diamond Metallic Powders. Diamond Coat Platinum is crystal clear, and has the same viscosity between Parts A and B. Once mixed, Diamond Coat Platinum has the same viscosity and workability as the Diamond Coat epoxy you’ve already been using. The working time is the same as our current epoxy, but once it begins to cure, it cures much faster and harder than our regular product. After its full cure time, it will have cured to a hardness that’s 30% harder than anything we’ve offered before! In addition to these great benefits, Diamond Coat Platinum is not considered hazardous material (HAZMAT). This means we will be able to ship Diamond Coat Platinum around the globe more quickly, and for cheaper than ever before! 

  • 2 gallons=32-40 sq ft per coat
  • 1 gallon=16-20 sq ft per coat
  • 2 quarts=8-10 sq ft per coat
  • 1 quart=4-5 sq ft per coat

Can go on almost any surfaces; MDX, MDF, plywood, tile, laminate, vinyl and concrete.
